For this production I teamed up with director Phil Tuckett. I have designed re-enactments on six previous documentaries for Phil. This documentary is based on the life of Mormon leader Joseph Smith and his family during their time in Nauvoo, Illinois leading up to the murders of Joseph and his brother in 1844. I was the designer and I also built a significant number of the principal costumes. I draped and constructed a total of four dresses for Emma Smith and patterned a total of twelve vests and four frock coats and multiple pairs of pants for Joseph and Hyrum Smith.
The scope of the reenactments ranged from intimate two person scenes to our largest scene which included 120 extras and an entire regiment of 54 Nauvoo Militia, whose uniforms were also custom made for this project.
